Sneak Peek - Sam and Dylan!!

A few sneak peeks from yesterday's wedding. Had so much fun working with this couple and their families and friends. The day started out with over two inches of rain but, that did not damper the spirits of this couple. We had to change plans a bit to work around the possible rain coming and the soaked grass everywhere but, a quick move to the studio and we were set to go! So many pics and not finished going through all of them but, had to share a few today. More from this wedding coming! Thanks so much Sam and Dylan. You were an awesome couple to work with and we enjoyed be a part of your day! We wish you both all the happiness the world has to offer......

A few sneak peeks from yesterday's wedding. This last pic was so cute. As I was snapping photos before the ceremony taking some photos of some of the kids that were there waiting. This little boy tells me "just wait". He tells this little girl, "you stand here"....looks at me and says to me, "you stand there. I'm going to kiss her and you take my picture." Love it, especially with the cross in the background. Just too cute!

Kayla and Donovan - Wedding Day!

Yesterday I photographed a beautiful outdoor wedding. Kayla and Donovan are such a sweet couple. They have been dating since they were in the 8th grade and one of the groomsmen told me "Donovan never had a chance...haha". Kayla was a stunning bride and you could see the love on Donovan's face as she walked down the "aisle". Can't wait to do the "trash the dress session" with these two! They are so much fun and I have a feeling I am going to have to protect my camera from the mud....

Thought I would show you something a little different tonight.....These are a couple of head shots of one of my beautiful daughters. She has been encouraged to submit some pics to a modeling agency and asked if I would do a few head shots that she could send in. These are just two of them we took - we actually need another shoot to finish up but, I thought I would share these with you. First, because I think she is beautiful and second to show you another "type" of photography. I have had a few people ask for this and yes, it is a service I offer. Sometimes people ask not to have their pics posted on the blog and if that is the case, I will certainly respect their wishes. But, since this is my daughter......LOL Love you Heather.....

A couple weeks ago, I had so much fun taking Brad, Chelsey and Gavin's pics. As you all know, I love taking photos and when they are family friends, it becomes even more special to share the time with them and capture some special moments in photos that they will have for a lifetime. Gavin is such a sweetheart and melted my heart in minutes after I met him. I love his beautiful eyes and he has such a great smile it was just so much fun.

Had a lot of fun with them this afternoon and can't wait till their "big day". Pat even mentioned a big surprise for the wedding day. Well, I haven't had a chance to look through all the pics from yesterday's wedding but, I promised the bride and groom I would post a few for them to see before they left on their honeymoon. Nick and Lindsey are such a sweet couple and I feel so blessed to have been a part of their wedding day. They both had such nice families and they all made us feel so welcome. It Must Be Puppy Love....

Yesterday I had a fun photo shoot with these six playful puppies. A very good friend of my sister also raises and shows Bernese Mountain Dogs and these are six beautiful puppies I am sure will be winning lots of ribbons and trophies in the future. It was such a wonderful shoot......although I have to admit a little bittersweet. We shared lots of laughs, a few tears as we reminisced about Sheila and lots and lots of puppy kisses. (I LOVE puppy kisses....puppy breath.....puppy love!)

I was so impressed we were able to get all six of these puppies in one shot and we actually did it a few times. I could tell Kathy is a pro.....(although we did have a few extra hands - thanks Cheyanna, Wayne, Sue and Evan).

I cannot thank Kathy enough for spending the afternoon with me and allowing me to enjoy these wonderful blessings. You were such a truly special person in my sister's life and spending time with you and your puppies was such a special time for me. I look forward to doing it again!

Fun Family Photos

Need to catch up....and .... I AM! Woo Hoo!!! Thank God I have such a great husband and friends. For those who don't know, my husband started working four day weeks to help me in my business and I have hired some additional help as well. So far, it is going great! I have spent the last several days editing, finishing up a new website, working in the studio and looking toward the future. It has been a great week!

But, I need to get my posts finished on my blog so here is the first of many to come in the next several days. For those who don't know, in the past few weeks I have had a computer crash and my internet took a "nap". But, everything is back up and running and most importantly I did NOT lose any pics in the process. I am such an anal backup freak, I have copies all over the place. Anyway, now that we are working properly again.....I WILL get caught up on my blogging too! Thanks to everyone for your patience.

This family was so much fun to work with. I cannot believe how many pics we took when they were here. I love doing photos of Grandparents and their grandkids and they were great to work with. Thanks for a fun shoot.

Just a few from one of my sessions today. I am having a few internet problems this weekend and uploading pics is difficult at best. But, I got these three to load. I absolute love these pics. This is such a sweet family and I loved taking their family photos. I will have more to share in the next several days but, just had to show you a couple. I nearly wet my pants laughing when the pic of Olivia came up with the hat. What a cutie! Definitely a benefit of this job is all the snuggling I get to do with babies!

Just a couple tonight of a sweet little boy. He is such a precious baby and was such a joy to photograph. He started out with lots of smiling pics and then got "pooped out" and fell asleep. So we got several pics of him sleeping. I just loved this pic of him with his hands crossed....so peaceful and beautiful.

Well, as all of you who live in central Wisconsin......May weather is unpredictable! Yesterday was no exception. Last year on May 14 it was in the 80's and everything was in bloom.....this year - not the case. However, a little cold, soggy, windy weather could not dampen the happiness in this wedding. This couple is so much fun and so much in love. We had such a good time documenting their special day. Here are a few of my favorites.

Jen and Daniel.....A Wedding!

Yesterday I had my first wedding to officially start my "2011 Wedding Season". I hope every wedding goes as well as it did yesterday. Beautiful bride, wonderful groom, sweet little boy, fantastic families and friends......and the weather was Awesome! As with all my weddings, I took lots and lots of pics and have really just begun the proofing process but as I was going through them, I had to share just a few.

Such a wonderful new family and I had a such a wonderful time. Congrats to Jen and Daniel.....I wish you many happy years together!

Several weeks ago I had several boudoir sessions and we had so much fun. Some of the ladies decided they would let me share a few of the photos with all of you. They all looked so amazing and we had such a good time in each of the sessions. I have several more sessions coming up in the next weeks and months and cannot wait.
I have had a few people ask lately and thought I would mention......whenever I do a session whether it is a boudoir session, family, children, etc. it is entirely your decision whether I post pics on my blog. I always respect the privacy of my clients and although I love to share with everyone, I would not do that without your permission. Many clients love to share photos with others, however, there are also many who prefer not to and that is fine.....everyone deserves their privacy.

Today was a day of photo shoots. It started with a shoot of this beautiful little girl. She is such a sweetheart! It is so much fun watching her grow. I had so much fun with her newborn pics and I shot a wedding that she was a part of and now got to spend some time taking her 6 month pics. When she walked in the door I have to admit, I was a bit nervous. She took one look at me and cried.....oh nooooo!!! But, within about 30 seconds she stopped and was all smiles. She even snuggled with me when I held her. So sweet! We got so many cute pics of her....mom and dad were great making funny faces, funny noises, "dancing", laughing, etc. At one point I was thinking, I should turn this camera around and take some pics of them as they entertained their little peanut to get some of these shots. Now wouldn't those be some fun ones on my blog.......

Several more shoots to get caught up on from the past few weeks.....I will get there.....I have been editing, ordering, designing all week! Lots of sneak peeks to come!

I LOVED THIS COUPLE!!!! I had so much fun with them when they came into the studio. We were just doing fun couple photos and I think I got a little carried away (I never do that do I?) I think I have over 100 proofs for them....I have no clue how they are going to decide. I couldn't even decide which ones to post. So, you just might get another set of "sneak peeks" when I am proofing their entire session later this week.

Tonight is prom! I had several couples in the studio this evening for photos which I am sure I will be sharing with you in the coming days after I get to share with them and get their ok to post. These first pics are of my absolutely beautiful niece. Before the rest of her group and her date that she went to prom with arrived at the studio, we had a little fun with her by herself and then a few with her dad. The final pic is of the group. My Heart Aches.......(dedicated to my little sister)

A few weeks ago my family began a struggle that I know has changed me and many people. My little sister suffered from a brain aneurysm while she was competing at a dog show about four hours from home. She was rushed to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee where she received exceptional care from some of the most caring people I have ever met. Over the first two weeks she progressively improved. They were talking about her going home but, she needed to have one additional procedure to ensure the rupture would not occur again. We all were happy and everyone expected it to be a simple procedure with her coming home in a couple days. However our world came to a halt…..When the team of doctors went to make the repair they found that the blood vessel was in a severely weakened state and about to re-rupture. Our worst fears came true and she suffered from a second much more severe aneurysm. We got news a short time later that this time Sheila would most likely not recover. We prayed for a miracle but, most of all we prayed that God would do the best thing for Sheila. After a few days of praying, watching and crying we had to make the difficult decision to take her off of life supports and allow her to go to heaven. Sheila always said she couldn’t wait to meet Jesus. Today, I believe with all my heart that she has done that. I know Sheila would have loved to be on this earth for many, many years but I also know that she lived life to its fullest while here. She was very blessed …. She had a wonderful husband that so obviously was the love of her life. She and Wayne have raised two amazing children. Wayne, Brock and Cheyanna were her world and she loved them deeply. She also loved her dogs…..they were her babies. She had actually said one time when she had heard about someone passing away while they were showing their dog that, when it was her time, that is what she wanted. What a wonderful thing that God granted that wish for her. Sheila had a spunky spirit. She had an opinion and was not afraid to share it. She was strong and loving and touched so many lives. She taught her children how to be strong and I know that will be the foundation for getting them through this. My heart aches as I watch her two children, her husband and my parents deal with all there is to do as we move forward as Sheila would have wanted us to do. Sheila felt strongly about organ donation and as a family, we wanted to honor that wish. We chose to do as much as we could which made the process take considerably longer. However, we know that is what she wanted and it gives us comfort to know that she will be saving lives. Although we don’t want the recipients to feel any obligation to contact us, it is our sincere hope that one day we may be able to hear from or meet someone she may have saved. Her spirit will live on in them…..

Now we try to find a way to go forward, our hearts ache so bad right now it is difficult to think about the future without her in it. I keep feeling like she is going to miss so much. Her kids graduating, getting married, having grandkids and being there for those day-to-day activities that seem so meaningless until a person you love is no longer there to do them with you. You try not to have regrets….that is not what she would have wanted but, your mind wanders and all you can think of is, if only I would have…..

We do not understand God’s plan but, trust in Him. We have our faith and that will get us through this. We did not understand why he gave us two more weeks, only two more weeks after the first aneurysm but, little things keep happening that have shed some light on that too.

God (and Sheila) wants us to learn from this and I plan to do that. Learn to treasure each and every day and treat is as though it may be your last because, it just may be. I know I have another guardian angel who is watching over us. I know I will continue to talk to her every day. I will curse at her ever time we get a snow storm and winter is lasting so long. Sheila loved winter and I didn’t so every time we get a storm – I know it will be her…..I promised I would make a snow angel for her every year. Since we just got this huge blizzard, we are sure is from Sheila, I decided to do the first one tonight….This photo is the first of many you will see on my blog…..one each year. I know I will see her every time I see her kids. I can see her in them, her strong, loving spirit. I know she will be watching over them and all of us. I must continue to look for the good in everything…..she had many happy, wonderful years with her family, she is in a much more wonderful place now watching over all of us. She is saving other lives….she has given the ultimate sacrifice….So many wonderful family and friends have been here whether in person or via email, phone calls, cards and facebook - praying, taking care of our animals, doing housework, cooking, shopping, etc……the list could go on and on. We are overwhelmed with the outpouring of support and cannot thank everyone enough. You all have truly been the support for us to continue on…..

We need to continue to look for the positive signs as we move forward and rejoice in the fact that she is in Heaven…..We must believe in God’s Plan……..but……my heart aches…..

Art Show.....and a few extra....

A few months ago while I was shooting a senior session on Main Street, the owner of a local art studio (ExVoto) came out to talk to me about participating in a Black and White show she was having in February. I was so extremely flattered since the owner of the studio is an amazingly talented artist. I finished my senior session and within minutes began thinking of what I would want to include in the show. Since the photos were for a show I really wanted to do a few pieces that would be a little more edgy and different. I asked my daughter and a friend of hers to help me out and we had a photo shoot one Friday afternoon. I took several hundred photos and we had a great time. My daughter's friend is studying abroad in Switzerland and was home for a few weeks over Christmas. Not all of these were in the show but, these are a few from the session I thought I would share. The first one, second one and the last one were in the show as well as a couple of others that I plan to share in a future blog post. Also, the last photo is a boudoir shot that was in the show but also a sneak peek to tomorrow's blog post where I will be sharing several from my Boudoir Sessions. I want to thank both of my models for being so great to work with and also Tina at Creative Edge for the beautiful framing. She did an amazing job and I could not be happier with the work she has done for me. Unfortunately the blog posts don't include the framing but, once they are in my Gallery in the studio I will take a pic and share with all of you.....

I'm Back.......

First, I need to apologize for being gone for a while......as many of you know, my sister suffered from a brain aneurysm last week. It has been a long week of praying, crying, talking, etc. Fortunately, she was in a large city close to one of the best hospitals for situations such as these. God has answered our prayers and helped her through the surgery and her recovery thus far. We know that it will be a long, slow process but, we are thankful for her to still be with us. We continue to pray each day for a speedy and full recovery. I will be taking her daughter back down to Milwaukee tomorrow so we can see her again but, I am so far behind in my blog posting that I thought I would share one with you tonight. As I looked through the possible posts, this one jumped out at me....These are two beautiful little girls that I was so fortunate to be able to photograph one morning. As I was looking at the photos, it made me think of me and my sister as we were growing up, laughing, playing, fighting and sharing secrets.....I can just picture these two doing that as they grow up. They were such sweet little girls and I so enjoyed taking their photos. Can't wait for them to come back in a few months as they grow......

Such a wonderful family!!

Recently I had the great pleasure to take family photos for this wonderful family. I have always wondered what it would be like growing up in a large family. Although my husband has seven brothers and sisters and over the years they have truly become like my own brothers and sisters, I always kind of wondered what it would be like to grow up with all those siblings. When I had the opportunity to work with this family, they let me take part in their family and capture their personalities for a bit and find out what it is like. They were so loving and wonderful. I was so honored to be a part of their time....one of their sons was home on leave from the military (he is stationed in Iraq and hopefully he will be able to look at these soon) and another son lives in New York and was on vacation spending time with his whole family while his brother was home. I know how difficult it is to get a small family organized and ready for photos, a larger family makes for a much more difficult time that all can get together and get their photos taken. I cannot thank them enough for allowing me to capture some memories for all of them. You were all awesome and I enjoyed it tremendously.

Something A Little Different......

I thought I would share something a little different today. If you have seen this poster around town or in school, you may have wondered where the casino is..... (I have gotten that question a few times). Several weeks ago, I was asked to do a poster for the Medford Gymnastic team. They had a vision - they wanted a casino theme with the slogan - "We're flipping for a chance....". Well, since we are short on casinos in Medford and I really didn't think we could convince all those parents to let me take a bus load of students to a casino somewhere, we had to be a little more creative. So, photoshop here we come! Nearly every person on the poster is a separate photo. Although, I really thought about a quick trip to Vegas to take a photo of a Casino I liked, I couldn't quite pull that off. So, I had to create my casino from other photos of casinos, slot machines, game tables, etc and "layered" them together to create this large poster. Each person or element is a separate layer.....quite a project but, so much fun!

I had a a great time working with this group and creating the poster. They were an awesome bunch and we had a blast taking all the pics. Thanks so much for the opportunity!

Newborn Boy....

Well, I am behind with blogging again! But, I have been spending so much time editing pics, I just haven't had time to post. Lots of sessions and having so much fun. This little bundle of joy was no exception. He is a precious newborn that I was so lucky to spend some time with. I have been busy, busy, busy lately. But, that is normal and I love it. I have been spending lots of time taking photos, editing and ordering..... I have had several Boudoir sessions and some of the people have given me permission to share one or two with you which I will be doing after Valentines day (most of the pics are for their significant others for that reason) so, those will be coming. In the meantime, I have lots of beautiful pics to share with you. Tonight......just one. (I had a root canal this morning and I am feeling kind of ......yucky!) Anyway, here is a photo from a shoot earlier this week. Two absolutely beautiful little girls. Baby turned one month old today and her big sister is 4. I had so much fun with them and I thought this picture was so sweet.
I will have more from this shoot and several others in the next few days....I promise! But, for now, you can enjoy this beautiful moment with Marlee and Brynlee.....

Six Generation.......and it all began....

It all began with this beautiful lady.......Six generations - she is the beginning......

If you look at my post from a couple weeks ago, you would have seen this lovely lady in a six generation photo I took. Here are a few more from that session........ We were having a little fun with the pink boa but, I loved this pic - she looks so happy.

I wanted to do something a little different......all five generations holding baby Owen....all have played a part in who he is......he is another "beginning".......

Babies are always special and Owen was certainly no exception. He is so sweet. His mommy wanted some of him sleeping and he would have none of that. He wanted to be awake and see what was going on but, awake or sleeping they are awesome.

Sorry for the late posting of this wonderful family.....Right after Christmas I had fun taking pics of this family. Her son and son-in-law are in the military and would be leaving soon so they wanted a family photo before they leave. One more....just for fun. This fall we were at a wedding in the Madison area - pics were posted earlier of that beautiful event. Anyway, we had a little extra time when there and we took a drive. It was a beautiful day as you can see and the trees were just turning. As we are driving down the road, I yell "Stop!" Fortunately my husband is very used to me doing this and knows that when I yell that, it is typically because I see something I want to take a photo of. This was so beautiful with the little church in the background......Brings back such wonderful memories of a beautiful wedding and an absolutely gorgeous fall day......I'm ready for spring!

I am not much for "New Year's Resolutions" but, one of the things I really wanted to do this year is take more photos of things other than clients......I love, love, love taking photos of children, people, weddings, etc. but, I also enjoy so many other things too....I always have my camera and am "snapping" but, I don't always post. Last night as I was letting Annie out I noticed the moon and how beautiful it looked in the backyard. Here is on the the photos I snapped!

The only thing I really don't like about seeing the full moon in winter is.....that typically means cold, cold nights....and they are calling for -20 to -25 below wind chills this Friday and Saturday. I guess my new snowshoes are going to have to wait.......

Six Generations

If any of you saw my facebook post early yesterday morning, you saw I had a busy, busy weekend planned. But, for those of you who know me......that is my "normal". In addition to a couple of other photo sessions and a Christmas party at my house, I was honored by this family to be able to take a SIX GENERATION photo. When I first posted on facebook that I was doing this, I had several people think I made a typo and thought it was a five generation. As you may know, this is a rare occurrence.

Although the baby wasn't very enthused about having his picture taken, we were able to get a few. He is such a sweet baby....I added an additional pic just of him from a session about a week ago. I will be sharing more of that session in the days to come.

Thank you all again for giving me this wonderful opportunity. I truly was honored to be a part of documenting something so wonderful!

I have been so lucky to have several newborns to photograph lately and I have a few more coming this week. Here are a few from one session. She is a beautiful little girl and made me work.....She was very good but, just did not want to go to sleep. So, we got several pics while she is awake and some when she finally decided it was time to take a nap.

Melissa and Gary - Engagement Session

Such an awesome couple! They live in Texas and when they were home over the holidays I got the opportunity to do their engagement photos. They are planning a New Years Eve wedding in Florida and I am lucky enough to be going there to take their wedding photos. I sent their proofs to them in the mail and am thinking that was a mistake - I should have delivered them personally. (It is below zero here with the wind chill and in the mid 70's where they live).....I think I messed up on that.....Delivery of a CD to Texas, that's a business expense - isn't it????

This little girl is the sweetest little peanut.....I love her big brown eyes, chubby little cheeks and her dimples...who can resist her dimples. And.....she is such a happy little girl with a million expressions. I had so many wonderful seniors to photograph in 2010. I absolutely love working with seniors. They usually are excited to be photographed and love to have fun. Emily was no exception. She is an absolutely beautiful girl and the camera loved her. As you can see, it was pretty cold when we took pics but she was such a good sport. And, I am so glad she was, I love the pics in the weeds with the snow. Thanks Emily for a great afternoon!

I am so far behind in blogging......this entire fall has been just an incredible "ride". I have been blessed with so many wonderful clients and have had the time of my life taking their photos. The last few weeks I spent most of the time either taking photos or ordering photos and Christmas cards for so many clients. So, my goal this week is to get caught up.....well, at least a little closer to caught up with all my blogging. Here are a few of my favorites from three of my sessions. Each night this week I will be posting pics from any of my sessions that I have not yet posted from this year. (Unless, of course, the client has asked me not to put their pics on my blog) After the week is over I will be having a contest......YAY!!! Since it is Christmas, family is on everyone's mind even more than usual. So, I thought I would post some of the pics I have taken recently of my family. The first two are of my beautiful daughter and granddaughter, the second is our wonderful daughter and her boyfriend and the last one is of my mom and dad. I am so blessed to have all of them in my life as well as my extended family - inlaws and friends that have become part of our family. I just had to share a couple of photos from our Christmas so far......The first one is Lorin and Aubree after her Christmas program. They were ahead of us walking to the vehicle and I love that they are holding hands. She certainly has her papa wrapped around her little finger. The second one is from the Winter Wonderland in Marshfield. Every year we go one evening and enjoy all the lights and displays. Such a beautiful thing to see. Aubree and Heather were walking through one of the "tunnels" of lights and I snapped a pic. Such wonderful Christmas memories.......

Merry Christmas Everyone! I have an engagement shoot later this morning so......if I get just a couple of minutes tonight, I will try to post just a couple. So many other shoots to post but, next week should be a little slower.

Winter Wonderland Wedding!

Saturday I had such a wonderful time taking photos of a beautiful wedding. As always, I have lots and lots of pics to edit but, I wanted to share just a few. Heidi and Eric are such a sweet, loving couple. It was such an honor to be part of their wedding.

Heidi wanted a winter wonderland wedding and I think she has connections with Mother Nature.....but, she didn't know her own powers. She ordered the snow and I think she forgot to specify how much she wanted. No matter.....it was a beautiful day and they braved the cold for lots of wonderful pics.

Thank you Heidi and Eric for allowing me to be a part of your day. It truly was a pleasure. All the happiness in the world to both of you.

Baby is almost here......

Such a wonderful couple....beautiful mommy-to-be and daddy-to-be came and had a few pics taken before they have their new little bundle arrive. She is to be making her appearance any day now and I GET TO TAKE HER PICS! (Can you tell I am a little excited?) I love taking newborn pics and a Christmas baby - ohhhhhh, the excitement of it all is almost too much.

Mommy and daddy were so much fun to photograph and they are anxious to meet their sweet little girl (I think almost as excited as me.....haha). I have some fun ideas for pics of their little girl but, we will have to wait a few more days yet. She is scheduled to make her appearance soon....but, babies have a way of not always following schedules so, we will just have to be patient.

These are just a few of my favs from the "mini" session. Such a loving couple, so much fun. Although they were so happy and we were having so much fun it was difficult to get "serious" faces on the pics. I love how you can see their joy and love in the pics.......

A few weeks ago I took Eve's pics. She is an absolutely adorable little girl and so funny! She has the cutest little dimples and beautiful brown eyes and.....the list goes on and on. And, she was so happy! Some of the pics I took we were making funny faces and this is one of the shots I got. When it popped up as I was editing - this was the first thing that popped into my head. I couldn't resist posting this one. I have all the editing done on this shoot and will share more of Eve's pics in the future. But, for now, this is my life!

It's Us!

Last week I decided it was time I took some photos of my own family. Although we took a "few", you will have to wait for the "big" one and some of all of us, kids, etc. But, I thought I would do a quick post tonight and share one of me and my wonderful husband. I bet you are wondering how I took photos of our entire family......well....my wonderful husband ordered me a wireless remote for my camera. So, I set it up on my trusty tripod, set up the camera to the correct settings for what I wanted, got into place and pushed the button.....LOTS OF TIMES! It was actually fun and even more fun looking at the pics. As you go through them, you can actually see what our conversation was as I was taking the pics.....Even funnier....As all of us are laughing, talking, NOT looking at the camera.....Aubree who is sitting in the middle was a perfect model, sitting in the correct pose, smiling and looking at the camera the entire time. I think Nana having that camera in her face happens so often she is a pro! More from our shoot coming soon.....but, first, I have lots more of others to share!

Senior Pics......Taylor!

So, I don't know if I should apologize that this post is this big or just think you got a bonus. I am lucky I narrowed it down to these. Taylor was my last Senior for the year (I think - I actually got a call from someone today that didn't like her original shoot with another photographer and wanted to know if I could do them, so you may see one more yet this year??) Anyway, Taylor's shoot was on a cold blustery day a couple weeks ago. This poor girl nearly froze to death getting her pics taken. But, she was so great about it. She is such a beautiful girl and very comfortable in front of the camera and it shows. There were so many awesome photos of her and I am sure she will have a tough time deciding. Kayla and Donovan - Engagement Session

Back to blogging! Ok....I try to post every day, or every other day, but, I'm not very good at that. But...I am trying! I have so many sessions to post so, to all my wonderful, patient clients....I promise we will get everyone's sessions posted (unless, of course, you have asked me not to).

So, here is the first post of the week.... Kayla and Donovan will be getting married next summer and I am lucky to be their photographer for their special day. A few weeks ago, we had a fun session taking engagement photos. I could tell right away that they are going to be so much fun! I actually got to take some pics of them once before. This past summer they were in a wedding that I photographed and got to meet them. It is always fun to get to know your clients as much as possible before the big day. The more comfortable you can be with one another, the more wonderful the photos will be.

(I was lucky to narrow it down to this....LOL) I Love shooting weddings.....people in love, smiling, happy....what more could you ask for??? Well, photographing this wedding was so much fun! One of my favorite parts of becoming a photographer has been connecting with my clients. So many have become friends and Kimberly and Thad are no exception. I barely knew them prior to the wedding and today I had coffee with Kimberly and I could have chatted with her all day. Kimberly and Thad are such an awesome couple. Glamour Shot......Sneak Peek!

A couple weeks ago I took "glamour shots" at the Big Brothers Big Sisters Ladies Night. Sue and Heather came with to assist me and we had so much fun. We had lots of fun props that we took with and everyone had so much fun "dressing up". As soon as we left we were already talking about what we wanted to do next year. I am in the process of editing the pics and thought I would share one with you. I LOVE this shot. Such a beautiful girl. I showed it to a few different people today and every time someone saw it they thought it looked like a magazine shot! Not sure what this girl does but, modeling could be in her future????

Another fun family session....Kerry and Terry and Nitro.....I have so much fun, as all of you know, taking photos. An added bonus is spending time with clients, which certainly was fun with these two (or should I say three). I love when clients bring their "kids" with for family photos.....and, yes, I mean all kids, including the "four-legged" kind. We have a little diva (named Annie) that rules our house and certainly is part of the family so I completely understand and LOVE when people want to include their four-legged kids in their family photos. And....to make the pics even more special Nitro was dressed for the occasion too!

Over the next several days I will be sharing lots of family sessions I have taken in the past few weeks. One of the benefits of living in Wisconsin is the beautiful fall colors. Some years we seem to be luckier than others. As all of you know, we have a small window of opportunity to enjoy the colors....one autumn storm and "poof" there go the leaves! Newborn....Livia

One of my favorite photo shoots is a newborn....(and.....children, and.....weddings, and ..... families, and.....seniors, and......ok, you get the picture - I just love taking photos) I love babies and keep telling people when they are here that they have to leave the baby as a "deposit" but, nobody has taken me up on that yet.....hmmmmm.....oh well, at least I get to spend some time with them taking their photos and capturing some precious moments with a new family. (Although, I have had a few moms tell me they will call me next time their little one is cranky and up at 2:00 a.m. haha) This beautiful family was such a joy to photograph and best part is.....I get to do it again in a couple of months. This beautiful little girl is going to be in a wedding I am shooting later this year! Can't wait....we have a few surprises for those pics....

In just less than two months these two will be getting married.....and, I GET TO TAKE THEIR WEDDING PHOTOS!!! I am so excited (can you tell?) I love photographing weddings, and Heidi and Eric are such a wonderful couple. And, as much as I do NOT like winter, I love winter photos and cannot wait to do winter wedding photos. They will be getting married right before Christmas....and I LOVE Christmas and all that wonderful bokeh (remember those blurry lights in the background in my Christmas pics from last year?) that goes with it. Like all the seniors I have been able to photograph this year, Trey was so much fun. I had never met him prior to the day but, knew right away we were going to have fun. Just like a lot of seniors I have photographed, he did NOT like getting his pictures taken. But, shortly after we started, he became a natural. And, as you can see we got a lot of great shots. A few weeks ago I got a call from a friend who is a photographer in Wausau. She had hurt her back and was in need of help! She had a wedding to shoot that Saturday and wasn't sure how she was going to do all the photos and wanted to know if I could help..... Well, thanks to some awesome clients that I had photo sessions booked with on that Saturday who were willing to re-schedule, I was able to help her out. Here are just a couple of shots from the day. I had never met the bride and groom prior to that day but, quickly could see why the other photographer had spoken so highly of them. They were an awesome couple and so very happy. It was fun to be a part of the day!

Alli and Kyle - Amazing Wedding

It amazes me how I can be (and have been) involved in so many weddings and each one is so unique and beautiful. Kyle and Alli were married at an amazing venue in southern Wisconsin with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The ceremony and reception were at the old barn that has been converted into wedding/event space. It is an awesome venue and the wedding was so much fun. For anyone who "watches" me on Facebook, you know that I have been spending lots of time taking photos over the past several weeks. With the onset of autumn and all the beautiful colors, family photos have become quite popular. However, I have been plugging away at my sessions to get them edited. I am working on Jace's pics right now and thought I would share one in light of tomorrow's big game. Tomorrow is Medford's Homecoming, and as it is in small towns across America - it is a big deal! Our team has done a great job this year! I won't be able to make it to the Homecoming Parade tomorrow afternoon as I will be shooting a wedding, but, I will be there in spirit.....Good Luck Raiders! A few weeks ago I had a lot of fun taking photos of Matt and Vanessa. They, along with their entire wedding party, were so much fun. The wedding was in a small town that didn't have any elaborate parks, etc. But, it has so many fun and interesting places to take pics....all you need to do is look around and you can create beautiful images with your surroundings. A few weeks ago I took some family photos that were just a little bit different. Jacki wanted to have some photos that were a little more "vintage" looking so she went hunting online and found vintage clothing, etc. We tried to re-create images you would have seen from the 50's and 60's. Something a little different.....taking it to the graphics arena....

I have been so fortunate to have such awesome clients to take photos of...some wonderful people and great kids. And these three were no exception. I was amazed at how well behaved and cooperative they were. (I would wonder what mom bribed them with but, have been with them before and know they are just great kids.) You should be very proud of them....you are great parents and it shows....

Some of these pics are a bit different. From time to time I will take a pic and do more of a graphics image rather than a photo. Just another option that usually works best for children. Alex turned 5 just a couple days before and is so darn cute so I thought I would do something a little different with his.

I bet you couldn't guess that Marshall is in football....Medford Senior High quarterback actually and from what I have heard - he does great! Can't wait to see him play in a game or two this fall. I have so much fun taking senior pics. Each one is unique and different and I love all the personalities I have had the opportunity to work with. It is fun to see how creative we can get taking pics with the things they love the most. Alex was no exception...he loves to hunt and he loves his car so we spent some time coming up with some fun shots. Here are a few from the day. When he came for his session his girlfriend came with and we even got a couple of shots of the two of them. He was such a good sport about the whole session....typically guys are not as excited about their senior photos as girls are but once they are here we always have fun and the day he was here it was about 100 degrees and 100% humidity (ok - maybe not quite that but, it was close to that and it did feel like it.) To make matters worse, he had lots of "hot" clothing....hunting gear, sweatshirts, etc......Thanks for a great shoot!

Carli was such a sweet 2 year old to photo....she has such a cute personality and it shines through in these pics. I love the expressions on her face! When she was here for her 2 year old pics, her big brother came with too and we got a couple of the two of them.....So sweet.........

Aubree's Photo Shoot - September Special!!!!

A couple of weeks ago I had a photoshoot with Aubree. She had been watching me take photos of so many seniors and seeing lots of edited photos that I have been working on. She asked me if we could have a photoshoot and.......of course I said "YES!" We had a little fun with it. Although she is only six, we had a photoshoot similar to a Senior Photo session. It was so much fun. I got tons of photos (she is a bit of a ham) and Nana has the camera in her face often so she is very comfortable getting her pics taken. Here are just a few from the short session we had.

Recently I have had so many people asking about my family and children sessions so I thought I would give you some additional info regarding those sessions. A session fee is $50 and the session lasts for approximately 1 - 1 1/2 hours. (However, when working with children they typically have their own schedule so if it takes longer that is fine. I have even had a couple of sessions where we split the session and they came back the following day/week. Whatever it takes to get the photos.) There is no additional fee in those instances......like I said, I want to make sure we get some great photos. Typically you will end up with approximately 40+ proofs to pick from. From now until October 1, 2010 I am running a special.....any session booked between now and October 1, 2010 and completed before Jan 1, 2011 will receive a free 8x10 of a proof of their choice ($30 value). Dates have been filling up fast......so, if you are interested in a session, please leave me a comment, Facebook message or call me at the phone number above!.

WOW!!! THIS GIRL ROCKS! I know I posted a few more than usual but, how do you choose? Emily is such a beautiful girl, both inside and out, and it shows in the camera. She was a natural in front of the camera. I do not think I could have gotten a bad pic.....don't think it is possible. We had a great session and there are sooooo many for her to choose from. A couple months ago I got an awesome opportunity to photograph a beach wedding on Sanibel Island, FL. The wedding took place right before sunset and was absolutely spectacular. We don't have many oceans in Wisconsin, so I was so excited to be a part of something so special in such an incredible place. The bride and groom didn't want to share any of the pics before their Wisconsin reception to keep everyone in suspence before they shared them with their family and friends here. Well, I have been waiting to share these with you because I wanted to do both the Wisconsin and Florida pics all at the same time. However, there are so many I loved from Florida, I will just have to share some of the Wisconsin photos at another time. I had such a difficult time narrowing down the selection. It was so beautiful there and Carrie and Jesse were great! Thanks to both of you for allowing me such an awesome opportunity and I hope you have many, many happy years together.

Saturday I photographed a wedding in the area. The couple getting married had this beautiful little girl. She was in the wedding party and oh so sweet. She slept through many of the pics (I will be posting them in a few days) but when her mommy woke her she was as happy as can be. So many smiles and such a sweet little girl. I just had to share one with you tonight. Watch for the full post coming in a few days.....

Several days ago I had fun taking one year pics of this happy little girl. She was such a joy....happy, smiling and so sweet. I love those chubby little cheeks....but, don't worry, I didn't pinch them. (I seriously wanted too but, I didn't want to make her cry.) Thanks for letting me a part of your first birthday. Yesterday I had a senior session with Emily.....she was so much fun! We were all over the place taking pics. Of course I was downloading pics late into the night and reviewing. Such a beautiful newborn.....I got the wonderful opportunity to photograph her when she was just two weeks old. She is such a beautiful little girl. We had so much fun with her during the shoot. She even surprised daddy at one point...... Here are just a few of my favorites. Sunday I got a great opportunity to take pics of an up-and-coming rock star! Brent will be a senior this year and is planning to go off to college in California after he graduates. He is a self taught musician and from what I have seen and keep hearing, we will probably be hearing a lot more from him in the future. Sunday, we started his Senior session. The weather was rainy (as usual around here). But, we decided to get started and do at least some of the inside shots. We will be finishing his shoot in the next week or so, so you may see his face again on here. These are just a couple of them from the morning. We ended the session with a few shots of Brent and his mom. Senior sessions are a great time to incorporate a quick family photo. Thanks for the opportunity to take your pics Brent.....maybe someday I will the the chance to say "I knew (and took his pics) back when.....before you became famous......." Good Luck Brent!

About a month ago (boy how time flies - I told you I am behind on posting but, I promise I will post several this week) I took these photos of Chloe who just turned 2. She is such a sweetheart and has tons of energy. I loved taking her photos. You can see in some of the pics she has on her pink croc "shoeys". She LOVES her shoes and mom and dad had to hide them from her to get some of the pics without them. She hates the feel of the grass on her toes so they had to go back on when we moved the shoot to the yard outside. She was so happy. Her mommy told me that Chloe was looking at all the pics I had taken and didn't say anything until the pic of her shoes came up. When that one came up on the computer, she started jumping up and down yelling "my shoeys!" Mommy got her a copy of that pic for her bedroom. Such a cutie!

I normally do only a "few" sneak peeks but, I had so many amazing pics from this senior session I couldn't choose. I actually took over 1,300 pics that day so you can only imagine how many beautiful pics I have. Kate is a beautiful girl with amazing eyes....and I don't think she could ever have a bad pic. She was a natural......I might actually have to share a few more with you at another time when I go through and do the editing. These were just a few random shots I pulled out of the shoot..... Fathers Day....

A couple weeks ago I shared some of the pics of the session I had with this family. They are such a sweet family and mommy wanted to do something a little special for daddy for Father's Day. So, she had asked me if the opportunity arose, to take a pic or two that they may be able to give to him for his Father's Day gift. (It was a surprise, so I couldn't share it with you before....) I snapped the first one as we were going through the session and when I began editing, I knew I had to do something special with it. I love the look on the father's and daughter's face. Both so happy and you can tell she definitely is daddy's little princess.
